1. Walk from the Lettaford area to discover the National Park's moors and tors. Follow the rise of Shapley Common to English Heritage's Grimspound (English Heritage) and then climb up to Hamel Down for spectacular views.
2. English Heritage's Grimspound is one of many prehistoric sites in the Lettaford area. Find the impressive Hurston Ridge/Chagford Common Stone Row. The Grey Wethers Stone Circles are part of an arc of six stone circles in this part of the National Park.
3. Spend a day in Fernworthy Forest.
4. Head for some of Dartmoor's many family attractions. The Miniature Pony Centre is just down the road from Lettaford. Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park and Canonteign Falls are a little further away. Try also the House of Marbles and Teign Valley Glass.
5. Visit the local gateway towns of Moretonhampstead and Chagford.
6. Lettaford is close to the B3212 that climbs to Postbridge and Princetown in the heart of Dartmoor National Park.
7. Enjoy Dartmoor's wide range of activities. Go horse riding, mountain biking, bouldering or climbing.
8. Discover Dartmoor's many National Trust properties. Castle Drogo (National Trust) is essential visiting. From there, walk the sublime Teign Gorge (National Trust).
9. Further away, explore Exeter to the north east and Okehampton to the north west.
