Burrator Reservoir Circular Walk, Yelverton, Dartmoor National Park

Start from Burrator Dam. There's parking along the eastern side of the road (when you're there, you'll see signs telling you where to park) or in the old quarry just south west of the dam.

Having taken in the views of the dam and reservoir, follow the road on the western side of the reservoir towards Burrator Discovery Centre. Beyond the visitor centre, you'll come to a path that drops down to the side of the reservoir. Follow this all the way up the western side of the water. You'll pass various access points to the banks of the reservoir. The path runs through woodland to tall deer fences with an area for dog walkers.

Continue through this fenced area and you come to the northern end of the reservoir. You follow the River Meavy to Norsworthy Bridge. Cross the bridge and head east. There's usually an ice cream van at the busy car parking area. Proceed to the road until you come to Burrator Arboretum. Across the road from the arboretum and its car park is a stile that provides access to a path that runs down the eastern side of the reservoir to Longstone Manor. Make sure you loop around the woodland that juts out into the water.

The path continues to Sheepstor Dam. At the far end of this squat dam, the path runs through more woodland to a stile just before Burrator Dam. Walk the tarmac road over the dam to where you started. There's usually an ice cream van here as well.
