Chinkwell Tor, Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor National Park

Chinkwell Tor, Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor National Park

Chinkwell is a very easily accessible tor overlooking the popular village Widecombe-in-the-Moor. The tor provides spectacular views over the eastern section of Dartmoor National Park including Hound Tor and Haytor Rocks. Hamel Down dominates to the west.

Chinkwell Tor is one of four rocky outcrops on Bonehill Down. Honeybag Tor is to the north. Bell Tor and Bonehill Rocks are to the south.

We've positioned Chinkwell Tor on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. To visit for the first time, we'd recommend wandering up from one of the car parking areas by Bonehill Rocks. A good path rises past Bell Tor to the cairns on top of Chinkwell Tor.

We'd also suggest you take in Chinkwell Tor as part of the Honeybag, Chinkwell and Bell Tors Circular Walk.
