Walkhampton, Dartmoor National Park
1. Bag some local tors. Ingra Tor, Sharpitor, King's Tor, Pew Tor, Great Mis Tor and Great Staple Tor are all superb and in the local area.
2. Picnic, walk and cycle at Burrator Reservoir.
3. Experience Dartmoor's rich prehistory at Merrivale and the Upper Plym Valley.
4. Cycle Drake's Trail. Mountain bike the Granite and Gears routes from Princetown. Other activities include horse riding and climbing.
5. Visit Princetown. Highlights include the Princetown National Park Visitor Centre.
6. Explore the Tamar Valley Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty. The Garden House and Tavistock are great.
7. Discover all the National Trust properties in the local area. Buckland Abbey and The Dewerstone are nearby. We'd also recommend trips to Saltram House, Cotehele House, Antony House and Lydford Gorge.
8. Follow the B3212 to Two Bridges and then Postbridge.
9. Day trip to Plymouth.
10. From Plymouth, relax on the beaches of South Devon and East Cornwall.
