Southerly, Dartmoor National Park
1. Lunch at Bearslake Inn.
2. Explore the moors and tors on the western side of the National Park. Yomp up to Great Links Tor. The views from Sourton Tors are magnificent. We'd also recommend heading to the top of the only two mountains in southern England at Yes Tor and High Willhays.
3. Cycle the Granite Way.
4. Visit the National Trust's Lydford Gorge, Finch Foundry and Buckland Abbey.
5. Explore Okehampton. Learn about Dartmoor in the Museum of Dartmoor Life. English Heritage's Okehampton Castle is superb.
6. Black-a-Tor Copse National Nature Reserve and Meldon Reservoir.
7. Go horse riding.
8. Discover Tavistock and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
9. Head up to the Princetown area. Visit the Princetown National Park Visitor Centre.
10. Spend a few days on the North Cornwall coast.
