Ponsworthy, Dartmoor National Park
1. Visit Higher Uppacott Longhouse. Explore the abandoned medieval settlements in the area.
2. Walk the moors and tors around Ponsworthy. Try Corndon Tor and Yar Tor for big, sublime views.
3. Follow the Two Moors Way north to Hamel Down or south to Dr Blackall's Drive.
4. Lunch at a local pub. Try the Tavistock Inn in Poundsgate, The Old Inn and The Rugglestone Inn in Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Other pubs in the local area include the Church House Inn in Holne, The Tradesman's Arms in Scorrition, and The Forest Inn in Hexworthy.
5. Explore Widecombe-in-the-Moor and the area around Haytor Rocks.
6. Head over to the sublime Dart Gorge. Take in the views from either Sharp Tor or Bench Tor. Wander into the gorge from Dartmeet or New Bridge.
7. Try local Dartmoor outdoor activities. Go wild swimming, horse riding, canoeing and mountain biking.
8. Discover Dartmoor's internationally important prehistory.
9. Visit Bellever, Postbridge and Princetown in the heart of Dartmoor National Park.
10. Drop down to Ashburton and then push on to explore South Devon. We'd also suggest day trips to Exeter and Plymouth.
