Peter Tavy, Dartmoor National Park
1. Explore the moors and tors on this side of the National Park. Walk to White Tor, Roos Tor, the Staple Tors and Great Mis Tor. For the adventurous, yomp out to the most remote spot in southern England at Fur Tor.
2. Discover Dartmoor's prehistory. Merrivale is one of the most impressive sites on Dartmoor. Langstone Moor Stone Circle is in a stunning location across the moor from Langstone Moor Standing Stone.
3. Lunch at a local pub. Try Peter Tavy Inn and The Elephant's Nest Inn.
4. Enjoy some of Dartmoor's outdoor activities. Go horse riding from Cholwell Riding Stables. Cycle Drake's Trail and the Granite Way. Mountain bike one of the Granite and Gears routes at Princetown.
5. Take in the spectacular views from Brentor and Brentor St Michael de Rupe Church.
6. Visit the National Trust's Lydford Gorge. Buckland Abbey, Cotehele House, Saltram House and Antony House are in this section of Devon and Cornwall.
7. Discover Tavistock which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
8. Visit Princetown and Postbridge in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. From Princetown, drop down to the beautiful Burrator Reservoir.
9. Explore the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
10. Day trip to Plymouth. Push east along the South Devon coastline or west to the East Cornwall coastline.
