1. Tavy Cleave.
2. Moors and tors. In the local area, Hare Tor and Great Links Tor are superb. If you are an experienced walker, head for Fur Tor. Yes Tor and High Willhays, the only two mountains in southern England, are a little further away.
3. Walk the Lichway/Lych Way. Try also the Granite Way, Drake's Trail and the Granite and Gears routes up at Princetown.
4. Lydford Gorge and other National Trust properties in the local area. There's Buckland Abbey, Saltram House and Cotehele House. Further away, try Finch Foundry and Castle Drogo.
5. Brentor and Brentor St Michael de Rupe Church.
6. Dartmoor's prehistory. Merrivale is a local highlight.
7. Princetown and Okehampton.
8. Tavistock, a section of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
9. Day trip to Plymouth.
10. South Devon and East Cornwall.
