Coombe, Dartmoor National Park
1. Stand at the top of England's highest waterfall Canonteign Falls.
2. Hire mountain bikes and ride the trails at Haldon Forest. A little further away, try the Exe Valley Way.
3. Walk around Trenchford, Tottiford and Kennick Reservoirs. Fernworthy Reservoir is superb as well.
4. Visit the many family attractions in, and around, Bovey Tracey. Try the House of Marbles and Teign Valley Glass and The Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey. Becky Falls is located on the Bovey Tracey to Manaton road. By Becky Falls we'd also recommend trips to East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve and Lustleigh Cleave.
5. Head to Fingle Woods. Follow the River Teign upstream to the local beauty spot Fingle Bridge with its Fingle Bridge Inn. Beyond those are the glorious Teign Gorge, the National Trust's Castle Drogo and Stone Lane Gardens.
6. Take in the views from Blackingstone Rock.
7. Discover Dartmoor's prehistory at English Heritage's Grimspound and Spinster's Rock.
8. Explore the moors around Haytor Rocks.
9. Spend a day in Exeter.
10. Drop down to The English Riviera and South Devon coastline.
