Caton, Dartmoor National Park
1. Visit Ashburton. If you have kids, the River Dart Country Park just outside Ashburton is great fun.
2. Explore the Dart Gorge.
3. Enjoy the spectacular views from The Ten Commandments Stones.
4. Climb to the top of Haytor Rocks. Learn about the Haytor area in the Haytor National Park Visitor Centre.
5. Spend a day in, and around, Widecombe-in-the-Moor.
6. Visit the Dartmoor family attractions around Bovey Tracey. There are House of Marbles and Teign Valley Glass and The Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey. Becky Falls and Canonteign Falls are a little further away.
7. Try also the family attractions around Ashburton and Buckfastleigh. Enjoy Buckfast Abbey, South Devon Railway, Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies and Pennywell Farm.
8. Go horse riding, climbing and bouldering. Cycle the Wray Valley Trail. Mountain bike at Haldon Forest or up on the moors by Princetown.
9. Spend a couple of days in Exeter and Plymouth.
10. Drop down to The English Rivier and South Devon.
