Tavistock St Eustachius Church, Tavistock, Dartmoor National Park

In the 'Tavistock Parish Church of St Eustachius' guide, it reads:

'St Eustachius' Church. The first authenticated reference to St Eustachius' church dates from 1265. Only one other church in England is dedicated to St Eustachius, a martyred Roman general, but there are dedications in Rome, Istanbul and Paris, and he is the patron saint of Madrid. Nothing of the 1265 church survives. A new church was built by Abbot Robert Champeaux (1285-1324) and was dedicated in 1318. In the 15th century, further re-building took place, and the Clothworkers' (far right) Aisle was added.'
