West Mill Tor, Yes Tor and High Willhays Circular Walk, Okehampton, Dartmoor National Park
From Okehampton, follow the signs to Okehampton Camp. The views down to Okehampton, Okehampton Castle and North Cornwall/Mid & North Devon are impressive if you have clean light.
At Okehampton Camp, cross the cattle grid and turn hard right. The road leads to West Mill Tor with Yes Tor behind. Park at the foot of West Mill Tor and begin by heading up to its summit. Again, if the light's good, you'll see Exmoor National Park on the horizon to the north. To the south west are Yes Tor and High Willhays. To the north east and east are Belstone Tor, Oke Tor and Cosdon Hill (Cawsand Hill). To the south east is the high ground around Hangingstone Hill.
From West Mill Tor, follow the grassy track south west to the summit of Yes Tor. Walk the ridge to High Willhays. These are the highest summits on Dartmoor and offer superb panoramic views. Great Links Tor is to the south west and Bodmin Moor to the west.
Follow the military road from the summit of High Willhays back down to the area around Okehampton Camp.
