Haytor National Park Visitor Centre, Haytor Vale, Dartmoor National Park

At present, Dartmoor has three National Park Visitor Centres.
The largest and most impressive is up in Princetown. Next is Postbridge National Park Visitor Centre with its special display relating to Dartmoor's rich prehistory. The smallest is at the foot of the hill that rises to Haytor Rocks.
Whilst the Dartmoor National Park Authority continually update their properties, as of early Spring 2015, information boards specialised in providing information on the local area, specifically Haytor Rocks and Haytor Down. As is the case with all the visitor centres, there's an excellent range of free tourist information in addition to books and local crafts for sale.
We'd recommend visiting before you explore the area as it provides a great insight into the formation, prehistory and history of this eastern section of Dartmoor National Park.
This is the most popular area in Dartmoor so expect crowds during holiday periods.
