Haytor Down, Haytor Vale, Dartmoor National Park

Haytor Down, Haytor Vale, Dartmoor National Park

This is probably the most popular area of moorland in Dartmoor National Park. In high Summer, or after a good dumping of snow in Winter, its many car parking areas are rammed full with vehicles. Its popularity is partly owing to its location on the eastern side of Dartmoor near the large towns of South Devon and The English Riviera and partly owing to its beauty and sites of historic and prehistoric interest. The views across Dartmoor National Park and down to the South Devon coast are awesome.

We've positioned Haytor Down on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. There's lots to see and do at Haytor Down so we've broken this listing down into sections.
