Manga Hill Cairn, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

Manga Hill Cairn, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

The high moor west of Chagford has many impressive prehistoric attractions from stone rows to ancient settlements, stone circles to evocative standing stones. Overlooking these attractions, near a section of Dartmoor's highest ground, is a large cairn topping Manga Hill. It's a great place to visit with the added bonus that the superb Watern Tor is nearby.

We've positioned Manga Hill Cairn on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location.

To visit, we'd recommend walking from either Fernworthy Forest or Batworthy Corner to Teignhead Farm Clapper Bridge. Cross the North Teign River and follow the grass track that runs north west of Manga Brook to the top of Manga Hill. Pop over the farm wall and the cairn is big in front of you.

More grass tracks take you to Watern Tor with its extraordinary rock formations and views.
