Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre, Bovey Tracey, Dartmoor National Park

The Moretonhampstead & South Devon Railway ran from Moretonhampstead through Lustleigh and Bovey Tracey to Newton Abbot. Opened in 1866, the line was closed to passengers in 1959. The stretch between Moretonhampstead and Bovey Tracey is being turned into a multi-use trail called the Wray Valley Trail. The stretch from Bovey Heathfield to Newton Abbot was used for goods trains until as late as 2015.

You'll find the Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre in the old railway station. Combine a visit to the House of Marbles and Teign Valley Glass with a trip to Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre to learn about the history of the local area including its railway and pottery industry.

We've positioned Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. The museum is open from early April to late October, Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to midday.
