Tunhill Rocks, Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor National Park

Tunhill Rocks is the most dramatic tor on Blackslade Down. A jumble of giant, rocky outcrops located on moorland that drops down reasonably steeply to farmland and hamlets south of Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Tunhill Rocks is just south west of Pil Tor. The prehistoric barrow Wittaburrow is a short stroll away to the south.

We've positioned Tunhill Rocks on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. To visit, we'd recommend heading for the car parking area at Hemsworthy Gate. Follow one of the wide grass tracks up to Top Tor and then Pil Tor. You'll see Tunhill Rocks below you.

Note that there are car parking areas north of Top Tor. It's an easy walk from those. You can also wander up to Tunhill Rocks from the car parking area at Cold East Cross via Blackslade Ford.
