Where is Ivybridge in Dartmoor National Park?

Ivybridge is located by the southern border of Dartmoor National Park.

Ivybridge is Dartmoor's gateway town to the south moor. It sits below high moorland and is a short distance from the South Devon coast. The A38 Devon Expressway passes by on its way to Plymouth. Great location from which to enjoy the moor, coast and 'Britain's ocean city'.

Note that the River Tamar, Tamar Bridge, Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and East Cornwall are reasonably close to the west. If you don't mind driving, you can travel far into Cornwall from Ivybridge.

The Two Moors Way from Ivybridge

The Two Moors Way is a long distance path that runs from Lynmouth on the Exmoor National Park coast all the way south to Ivybridge on the southern border of Dartmoor National Park. It's about 100 miles long. Follow the Two Moor Way from Ivybridge onto Dartmoor's south moor.

Alternatively, head in the other direction to the South Devon coast. Walk the Erme-Plym Trail to Wembury which is the southern end of the Coast to Coast Path. The Coast to Coast Path is the Two Moors Way and Erme-Plym Trail combined.

 

Dartmoor’s south moor from Ivybridge

Plymouth from Ivybridge
