Tavistock View Point, Tavistock, Dartmoor National Park

Tavistock View Point, Tavistock, Dartmoor National Park

It takes effort to enjoy many of Dartmoor's best views. Others, like Tavistock View Point, are very easily accessible and require just a few steps. Situated at the western end of a very large car parking area off the B3357, the Tavistock View Point looks out across Tavistock and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to Cornwall.

We've positioned Tavistock View Point on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location.

To visit, follow the B3357 to the western edge of the moors between Merrivale and Tavistock. At Pork Hill/Barn Hill below Cox Tor, you'll find that very large car parking area. There's a model at the western end of the car parking area that shows the major points of interest in the view. Running left to right (south to north), these include:

Mt Edgcumbe Pk.

Roborough Down.

Plaster Down.

Tamar Bridges.

Tavy Valley.

Gunnislake.

Kit Hill.

Caradon Hill.

Kilmar Tor.

Tavistock.

Brown Willy.

Brent Tor.
