Sheepstor Brook Ford and Scout Hut Copse, Sheepstor, Dartmoor National Park

Sheepstor Brook Ford and Scout Hut Copse, Sheepstor, Dartmoor National Park

This is a great starting point from which to explore the southern section of Dartmoor National Park. There's a car parking area as marked on the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map. This car parking area is by a ford and a copse in which is a scout hut. These are below Gutter Tor.

A good track rises north east to Eylesbarrow Tin Mine. This track is popular with walkers, horse riders and mountain bikers. It's part of the Granite and Gears Princetown and Burrator Cycling Route. It also provides access, via another track, to Plym Ford and the high south moor.

Many people using this car parking area head out to the extraordinary Drizzle Combe complex of prehistoric sites.
