Higher Hartor Tor, Sheepstor, Dartmoor National Park

The Drizzle Combe complex is one of the most important collections of prehistoric sites in Dartmoor and Britain. It's situated on a gentle slope of moorland in the southern section of Dartmoor National Park and is part of the Upper Plym Valley that's managed by, among others, English Heritage. The exceptionally popular Burrator Reservoir is to the west. Dartmoor's high south moor is to the east. Higher Hartor Tor sits above the complex of prehistoric sites and offers top views of the entire Upper Plym Valley.

We've positioned Higher Hartor Tor on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location.

To visit, follow the track that climbs to Eylesbarrow Tin Mine and then drop down. There's a car parking area by Gutter Tor if you want to approach from the west. There are plenty of car parking areas on the Princetown/Whiteworks road near Nun's Cross Farm if you want to approach from the north. Alternatively, wander across the moor from the car parking areas at Burrator Reservoir.
