Whiteworks, Princetown, Dartmoor National Park

Whiteworks, Princetown, Dartmoor National Park

A road runs from Princetown to the edge of Foxtor Mires. Whiteworks is at the end of that road.

Whiteworks is a disused tin mine. When you visit, you'll see extensive ruins and old mine shafts fenced off from the public. These are next to some modern buildings. Kids can often be seen charging around the moor between these buildings and Fox Tor Mires because one of the buildings is used for outdoor activities.

We've positioned Whiteworks on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. There's only room for a small number of vehicles at Whiteworks so we'd suggest you park further up the road in one of the parking areas off the Princetown to Whiteworks road and then walk down to explore the disused mine. These parking areas are visible on Google's satellite imagery.

Whilst a path is marked on the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map from Whiteworks through Foxtor Mires, we wouldn't recommend taking it.
