White Ridge, Postbridge, Dartmoor National Park

White Ridge, Postbridge, Dartmoor National Park

Fernworthy Forest is the largest forest in Dartmoor National Park. Its southern border runs along high moorland that's visible from miles around. This high moorland is formed by Assycombe Hill and White Ridge. The latter is a broad ridge of moorland between Stannon Tor and Sittaford Tor/The Grey Wethers Stone Circles.

White Ridge is one of those places on Dartmoor that people walk across to get from one point of interest to another. Few head to its summit as a destination in itself. The views up there are superb and there's the added interest of a cluster of ancient settlements and the remains of a stone row.

We've positioned White Ridge on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. To visit, walk in from Fernworthy Forest or from one of the parking areas that line the road by The Warren House Inn. Refer to the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map for detail.
