West Devon Way, Dartmoor, Dartmoor National Park

One of the best ways to get to know the north west, west and south west of Dartmoor National Park is to walk the West Devon Way. At 37 miles, you'll either have to make a holiday of it or break the walk down into smaller chunks.

The following describes the route running north to south from Okehampton to Plymouth. On the route, you'll see waymarkers for the West Devon Way. The image on these waymarkers is Brentor St Michael de Rupe Church on Brentor which you'll find towards the middle of the Way.

The West Devon Way starts/ends in Okehampton. From there it heads to Sourton before running through Lydford towards Mary Tavy.

After Mary Tavy, the West Devon Way cuts through Tavistock down to Yelverton. The final third of the Way leaves the National Park around Clearbrook and runs through Bickleigh and Marsh Mills to Plymouth.
