The Sandy Park Inn, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

The Sandy Park Inn, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

Between Castle Drogo and Chagford

Castle Drogo is one of Dartmoor's, and the Westcountry's, most popular attractions. There are three pubs within easy walking distance of the National Trust property. Fingle Bridge Inn is located in a famous beauty spot. The Drewe Arms is on the Two Moors Way. Less well known, west of Drogo, is The Sandy Park Inn.

Parking

There's limited parking outside the pub.

To walk in from the Castle Drogo area, we'd recommend dropping down to the River Teign and then walking upstream to Dogmarsh Bridge. The Sandy Park Inn is just up the road to your right. It's a busy road, however, so it's best to cross Dogmarsh Bridge and follow the public footpath marked on the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map around the field on the other side of the bridge. You come to a gate by a narrow country lane. The Sandy Park Inn is to the right.

You can also walk in from Chagford via the Two Moors Way. This follows the River Teign downstream to Dogmarsh Bridge.

We've positioned The Sandy Park Inn on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location.
