Middle Tor, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

Middle Tor, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

Middle Tor is one of three rocky outcrops running along the edge of the northern section of Chagford Common. Unsurprisingly, Middle Tor's the middle outcrop. Great spot for an evening picnic as the sun arcs west and lights the beautiful countryside around Chagford, Meldon Hill and the mouth of the Teign Gorge by the National Trust's Castle Drogo.

To visit, head up to Batworthy Corner. Follow the grass track up to Kestor Rock. You'll see Middle Tor below to the south east. It's an easy walk to Middle Tor across the moor. As ever, we've positioned Middle Tor on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location.

Look out for Kestor Rock and Middle Tor Rock Basins.
