Hunter's Path Teign Gorge Walk, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

Hunter's Path Teign Gorge Walk, Chagford, Dartmoor National Park

The Hunter's Path forms part of the Two Moors Way and runs past the National Trust's Castle Drogo (National Trust) on the lip of the Teign Gorge (National Trust). This linear walk offers some of the finest views in Dartmoor National Park.

Park at Fingle Bridge. This is a well known Dartmoor beauty spot with a good pub. A few hundred metres north of the bridge and pub is a path which takes you uphill west along the Teign Gorge (National Trust) towards Castle Drogo (National Trust). Take in the views and pop into Castle Drogo for a cream tea. If you have time, head out to Hunter's Tor (Teign Gorge/North East Dartmoor) for views up the mouth of the gorge and across the valley to Chagford and Meldon Hill. Once you've finished exploring the mouth of the Teign Gorge, stroll back.

Alternatively, visit Castle Drogo and then walk through its grounds to the Hunter's Path and reverse the walk above. For a slightly longer walk, we'd also recommend the Teign Gorge Circular Walk.
