Yarner Wood Reserve Base/Natural England Office, Bovey Tracey, Dartmoor National Park

The Yarner Wood Reserve Base/Natural England Office is situated next to the car park and main access point for Yarner Wood. Just across the car park from the office is a bird hide providing views over a large pond (the stew pond) frequented by birdlife. Leaflets providing information about Yarner Wood and the East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve, of which the wood is a part, are available at the office. There's a public toilet, map and signposts pointing you in the direction of the various walks you can enjoy in the wood.

Take a few minutes to look at the paintings of imagined scenes within this area over the millennia. You'll see them on an angled wood surface below information boards on the side of the Yarner Wood Reserve/Natural England Office. There are superb images of the medieval farmsteads that once lined the Bovey Valley and Yarrow Mine/Devon Wheal Francis.

To help you find the Yarner Wood Reserve/Natural England Office, we've positioned it on Google maps. Zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. It's just off the main Bovey Tracey to Manaton road so it's easily accessible.
