Yarner Valley, Bovey Tracey, Dartmoor National Park

Two streams arc through Yarner Wood and meet near Yarner Wood Base Reserve. To the north is Woodcock Stream. To the south is Yarner Stream. The valley cut by the latter is particularly impressive and we'd recommend visiting for its natural beauty, birdlife and historical features.

We've positioned Yarner Valley on Google maps. Zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. To visit, head for the Yarner Wood Reserve Base. Walk around the large pond and follow the forestry road past the huge beech trees. The road rises to the Yarner Valley Bird Hide. Pop in and watch the birds feed. From there, follow the road down to the Woodland Centre. Cross the stream and walk up to Yarrow Mine/Devon Wheal Francis/Yarner Copper Mine. There's an information board if this is of interest,

We'd then recommend wandering up to the Templer Way as described in the Yarner Wood Templer Way Walk listing. There are super views of the valley and another information board covering local historical features.
