Ladybrook Tor, Belstone, Dartmoor National Park

Ladybrook Tor, Belstone, Dartmoor National Park

Many of Dartmoor's tors attract huge numbers of visitors. Others, like Ladybrook Tor, are off the beaten track and passed on route from one area of the National Park to another.

Ladybrook Tor is a relatively short walk from the moorland village Belstone. We'd recommend visiting for the views of Belstone Ridge, Taw Plain and Steeperton Tor. We've positioned Ladybrook Tor on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. Note that it is marked on the Harvey British Mountain Map 'Dartmoor' map but not the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map.

To visit, walk through Belstone village to Belstone Great Green. Follow the track down to the western end of Belstone Cleave. Cross the River Taw on the wooden bridge and climb the steep moor. You'll come to a cairn, or small pile of rocks, where a path bears right, or south, to Lady Brook. Cross the stream (which can be quite deep after rain) and you'll see Ladybrook Tor on the horizon ahead of you.
