Belstone and Oke Tors Circular Walk, Belstone, Dartmoor National Park

Belstone and Oke Tors Circular Walk, Belstone, Dartmoor National Park

One of the first walks we completed in Dartmoor National Park about ten years back and still a favourite. We recommend the area for a wild camp, too. As ever, we'd suggest you plan this walk by looking at the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 Dartmoor map in conjunction with our photographs, links and geolocated Google mapping.

Start at Belstone. Whilst there's parking overlooking the edge of Belstone Cleave close to the moors, you're asked to leave your vehicle in the spacious car park to your left as you drive into the village.

Walk through Belstone and follow the tarmac road south which takes you to Belstone Common. Head south west to the high ground around Belstone Tors and then follow the ridge south to Oke Tor. The views west to the highest summits in Dartmoor are great.

From Oke Tor, cut down the hillside heading north east until you hit the well marked track that takes you back to Belstone village.

If you're staying in the area for a weekend then we'd also recommend the Belstone to Rowtor Walk and the Yes Tor and High Willhays Circular Walk.
